Antique Jennie or Fannie Burr Landscape Watercolor

"Jennie or Fannie Burr" This antique landscape watercolor by either Jennie or Fannie Burr measures 18 and one half inches wide and is 22 and one half inches high outside the frame. The image, within the mat, inside the frame measures 9 and one half inches wide and is 13 and one half inches tall. Fannie and Jennie Burr. 1872 to 1961 and 1858 to 1931. They were 2 of 5 children born into Monroe, CT's most prominent family. Their father was a very successful farmer. Although the 2 sisters were 14 years apart, they were close. Fannie began to draw as a child. She later attended and graduated from the Yale School of 953Arts. After that, she studied at the Art Students League in NYC. These accomplishments were very rare for a young woman in those days. List in Who Was Who in American Art by Falk. Exhibition at the New Britain Museum of American Art New Britain CT.
