Antique Speaking Dog mechanical cast iron bank

American Victorian Antique Toy Mechanical banks.Antique Speaking Dog mechanical cast iron bank. this "Speaking Dog" cast iron bank dates from 1885. It has Pat July 14 1885 and Oct 20 1885 stamped on its base. We believe This antique toy bank to have been designed by Peter Adams and Charles Shepard. The coin is placed on a plate held by the girl and when the lever is pushed she drops the coin into a trap door (which has its top missing) and the dogs mouth opens and her hand moves along with the dogs tail. The paint is all original and there are not repairs to the piece at all.. The colors are as follows. Her hat is yellow,dress red,bow on dress is blue,dog brown,base is a very dark red with a yellow line around it. Dogs paw white. We found three similar toy mechanical banks that sold way back in 1991 at the Bill Norman Mechanical Bank Collection auction by Gill Bertoia and Bob Brady on September 14 1991. All three of these were similar to this one and named Speaking Dog.

Thank you for your quick reply. I am really shocked at the price. I knew many people here wanted it, but probably figured I didn't know what I had and they wanted to buy it for nothing. I am glad I held on to it.
