Antique 14 Karat Gold lorgnette
Antique Lorgnette, This "antique gold lornette" is in excellent original condition and is made from solid 14k yellow gold. Lorgnettes are sometimes called retractable lenses.This Retractable lens or "lorgnette" dates from the Victorian period c1880 and measures 4 and one half inches long. The glass lenses can be replace with moder lenses and each measures 1 inches and three eighths. The center three rings on its handle pull down to release the spring which allows the second lens to swing out. Excellent original condition. Lorgnettes in this condition are very hard to find.
