Antique French Bronze Sculpture L'Amour au Papillon This bronze cast sculpture titled L' Amour au Papillon measures 19 inches high by 9 inches wide by 9 inches deep. L'Amour au Papillon is signed and dated 1864 on the back at the base. The artist Joseph Charles de Blezer was born in Ghent, Belgium. He attended the esteemed Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, France, studying under the renowned sculptor Jean Baptiste Clesinger. The artist's most well known work was his 1870 bust of American abolitionist John Brown.
