Jennie and Fannie Burr, Burr Sisters, Antique Oil Painting, This "Antique New Haven Area Marsh Scene Oil on Canvas by Jennie Burr circa 1900" measures 14 inches wide by 9 and one half inches high outside of the frame. The image of this antique Jennie Burr oil painting measures 9 and three quarter inches wide by 5 and one quarter inches high. Jennie Burr 1858 to 1931. She was 1 of 5 children born into Monroe, CT's most prominent family. Her father was a very successful farmer. She attended and graduated from the Yale School of Fine Arts. After that, she studied at the Art Students League in NYC. These accomplishments were very rare for a young woman in those days. Listed in Who Was Who in American Art by Falk.
