Solid 18k gold early French jewelry religious cross

Antique French gold jewelry,"Gold crosses". Early solid 18k gold early French crucifix. This 18k gold cross measures 2 and one half inches long and three inches with its solid gold ring. Weights 16 grams and dates from the late eighteenth to early nineteenth century. The French hallmarks are an animal head, a wheel circle and ps which can be seen in one of the photographs provided. It is inscribed INRI which is the label that Pontius Pilate had mounted over the head of Jesus Christ on the cross. Latin was the official language of the Roman Empire. The words were "Lesus Nazarenvs Rex Ivdaeorvm" and the English translation is "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews." The Virgin Mary is found on the reverse of the cross.
