- - - - - |  Western Primitive folk Art Painting by Streeter Blair circa 1952Item # 2522American Artist Streeter Blair was Born 1888, Died 1966. This Streeter Blair painting measures 24 inches tall by 28 inches wide outside of the frame and the painting is 16 tall by 20 inches wide. Well known for naive rural genre and landscape paintings.See Time Magazine March 21,1969 page 81 for a large article on Streeter Blair who began painting when he was sixty, spent years in other interests such as teaching, coaching sports, and owned an antique business. American Painter of farms, landscapes, youngsters playing leapfrog, Christmas carolers, historical scenes, picnics. Quite and interesting artist, he refused to take formal instruction, ignored art magazines, and never went to art shows.
