Rare unique handcut Fireplace from gray 1835 granite
Antique Granite, fireplace,This granite fireplace is truly One of a Kind designed and carved by local Lower CT River Valley master craftsman from 1835 large granite stones slaps use for steps leading to The 1835 Baptist meeting house built in Clinton CT by John Stanton.This gray granite was cut,hand finished and loaded on ox carts for delivery to local building sites in the Lower CT River Valley from the East River quarry during the first half of the 19th century. The gray granite in this fire place is absolutely beautiful. It has taken on a wonderful color after 167 years of outside exposure. This "granite fireplace" is equaled only by one found in a European castle. The Lower CT River Valley master craftsman that designed and cut this fireplace are available to discuss transportation and professional installation.The measurements of this fireplace can be seen in one of the photographs we have provided.
