Landscape prints of this movement tried to capture the beauty of the Japanese landscape in the types of subdued tones and colors that would appeal to westerners. Landscape prints from the Shin Hanga movement were extremely popular and highly prized among collectors in Europe and America. Famous print artists who would have been contemporaries of this prints artist are: Kawase Hasui, Hiroshi Yoshida, Shiro Kazamatsu and Tsuchiya Koitsu.
