Marine Painter, teacher, born 1926 in Chicago, IL. Died 2001 in Charlestown, RI. John D. Lutes was shown by the Cross Mills Gallery, Charlestown, RI, and the Madden Galleries of London and South Africa. His work hangs in the Pentagon and the Institute of Education in Japan. This scene was probably painted near Narragansett. Oil on linen, signed lower right.
