Studied:self-taught. Member:Boston AC. Exhibited: Leonard Auction Rooms; Boston AC; Mechanics Inst., Boston; Brooklyn AA; NAD. Work: PeabodyMus., Salem; Boston Athanaeum; Brooklyn Mus.; PortlandMA. Note: Webber served in the Civil War and was presentat General Lees surrender at Appomattox. His sketches andfinished illustrations of the event were shown at the BostonArt Club and brought him his first public recognition. Theywere published as wood engravings in Harpers Weekly, andas lithographs by J. H. Bufford, Boston.Oil on canvas. Frame measures 16 inches by 19" ,image measures 14 inches by 17".
